Fundvantage.ca
Elevating Funding Intelligence for Canadian Enterprises

A funding intelligence solution for Canadian enterprises, providing external and internal funding programs, and personalised reports to their clients based on their needs, including the following areas: Funding Intelligence, Global Competitiveness, Strategic Planning etc.

Problem

The website's current design exhibits signs of obsolescence, requiring a contemporary touch. Public pages pose navigational challenges, while certain content necessitates revision and condensation due to its verbosity. Furthermore, the website currently lacks a clear content hierarchy and fails to accentuate critical information, despite its evident potential.

Solution

Fundvantage is taking a transformative step by revamping its website home page, user portal, and dashboard. The redesign will prioritize modernization, user-friendliness, and content clarity to unlock the platform's potential and empower users to access crucial funding intelligence seamlessly

Current State Analysis

To gain a deeper understanding of the current state of the website, we
identified areas for improvement, and established a baseline for defining
requirements, we have conducted the current state analysis on the
homepage, and the user portal.

To Keep

  • Color selection

  • Content layout

  • User Testimonials

  • Categorization for the menu/ navigation bar

  • Simple layout for the login page

To Improve

  • Stock photos

  • Inconsistent design of the website, e.g. heading styles

  • Alignment for options under the navigation bar (content)

  • User engagement (social media platform/ newsletter)

  • CTA language

  • Search Engine in the user portal

Persona

We wanted to form a deeper understanding of our users' goals, needs, experiences, and behaviors. So, we created 4 personas for each of our user segments. They were based on user interviews and surveys, and we kept updating them throughout the project as we gathered more data. We used these personas whenever we wanted to step out of ourselves and reconsider our initial ideas.

UI Design

Once the usability issues were resolved, we moved on to design the final screens in Figma. Our goal was to create a visual identity that aligned with the brand’s values and message. Also, we’ve checked the competition and taken a deep dive into my catalogue of references for inspiration.
